Mystic River Herring Run and Paddle to be held Sun. May 19

MYSTIC RIVER WATERSHED – Join the Mystic River Watershed Association (MyWRA) for their annual Mystic River Herring Run and Paddle slated for Sun. May 19. Walk, run, or paddle at this fantastic event hosted by the MyRWA along the Mystic River, its banks, and its bike paths.

The 5K Run/Walk follows a USATF certified course along the Mystic River Bike Path. Participants will also set off on a 3, 9 or 12 mile Paddling Race up the Mystic River. Compete in both the 5K and 12 mile paddle races and be eligible for the Iron Herring Award. Fabulous prizes are donated by local businesses, and an organic cotton t-shirt will be provided to all who register by May 1st.

Age Groups: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-17, 18-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

Team Divisions (3+ persons): Male, Female, Mixed, Corporate. Team members should submit individual forms.

Schedule of events for Sunday, May 19:

8:00AM Day-of registration begins
9:00AM 5K run/walk begins
11:00AM 12 mile paddling race begins
11:15AM 9 mile paddling race begins; Bike to the Sea bicycle tour departs
11:30AM 3 mile paddling race begins

When? Sunday, May 19 at 9AM

Where? All festivities are located at the DCR Blessing of the Bay Boathouse, 32 Shore Drive, Somerville, MA. On-street parking is available with additional parking at the Somerville District Courthouse, 175 Fellsway, and a shuttle bus is provided.
